[오류해결] ASUS P470VAK-BPE1870 윈도우(Windows) 설치 시 드라이브를 찾을 수 없습니다 (Fix: Drive Not Found / IRST Driver)

1. 증상

ASUS P470VAK-BPE1870 All-in-One PC에 윈도우(Windows) 설치 시, 설치 대상 드라이브를 찾을 수 없는 문제가 발생합니다.

2. 원인

인텔 칩셋 환경에서 드라이브를 인식하는 IRST(Intel Rapid Storage Technology) 드라이버가 윈도우 설치 이미지 내에 포함되어 있지 않아 발생하는 문제입니다. 

제조사와 MS 간의 협의로 충분히 해결할 수 있을 것 같지만, 현재로서는 사용자가 직접 드라이버를 로드해야 하는 번거로움이 있습니다.

3. 해결방법

방법 A: 최신 윈도우 버전 사용 (가장 간단한 방법) 가장 쉬운 해결책은 최신 버전의 윈도우 설치 이미지를 사용하는 것입니다. Windows 11 24H2 이상 버전에서는 해당 드라이버를 기본적으로 지원하여 문제가 해결되는 경우가 많습니다. (필자의 경우 Windows 11 25H2 버전으로 해결하였습니다.)

방법 B: BIOS 설정 변경 최신 이미지로도 드라이브가 나타나지 않는다면, BIOS에서 아래 항목을 찾아 설정을 변경해 보세요. (메인보드 모델에 따라 항목이 없을 수도 있습니다.)

• VMD (Volume Management Device): OFF 또는 Disable
• SATA Mode: AHCI 선택 (RAID 모드 대신 AHCI 선택)

방법 C: 드라이버 수동 로드 위 방법으로도 해결되지 않는다면, 별도의 USB에 IRST 드라이버를 담아 수동으로 로드해야 합니다.

1. 설치 화면에서 '드라이버 로드'를 클릭합니다.

2. 'Hide drivers that aren't compatible with this computer's hardware' (이 컴퓨터의 하드웨어와 호환되지 않는 드라이버 숨기기) 항목을 반드시 체크한 상태에서 드라이버를 선택해야 합니다. 

3. 이 체크박스를 해제하고 임의의 드라이버를 강제로 지정할 경우, 정상적으로 동작하지 않으므로 주의가 필요합니다.

드라이버 로드 시에는 호환성을 위해 각 메인보드 제조사에서 해당 모델용으로 제공하는 IRST 드라이버를 사용해야 합니다.

Method 3: Manually Load IRST Driver (Recommended)

1. Download the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) driver from the official ASUS support site for your specific model.

2. Extract the driver files onto your Windows installation USB.

3. On the "Where do you want to install Windows?" screen, click "Load Driver."

4. Important: Keep "Hide drivers that aren't compatible with this computer's hardware" checked.

5. Select the compatible IRST driver from the list to reveal your drive.
