    **If a woman is as much active as a man, you can use this expression for her.**
  • You are always complaining.
    **=You are always a crying baby.**
    **=You are always whining.**
  • I aced it
    **If you had been good at the specific area, you can say like this.**

    eg) Am I getting my point across to you?
    **Trying to make people understand what you want to say, you can use this expression. **

    eg) You have messed up this time.
    **When somebody spoiled the mood or the atmosphere, you can express like this.**

    **When you forgot something, you can say like this.**

    **When something is very simple and boring, you can say this. Mono tone can be an adjective and a noun as well.**

    **When you pronounce this phrase you need to emphasize 'o' and 'r' sound in the word, 'for'. It is almost close to the sound, 'feo four'. That will be a great tip when you suffer from many 'r' sounds in a word.
  • per month vs in a month
    eg) You can get the coupon per month.
    eg) You can get the coupon once a month.
    eg) You can get the coupon per a month. (Incorrect)
    **When you use the word, 'per' with time expression, you don't need to put in the article ahead time expression. Here is the example.**

Grammar Focus - Present perfect simple and past simple
When you are doing something from the past and now you are still doing that, you can use present perfect simple. When you know the specific time that you did something in the past, you can use past simple tense.

In addition, present perfect simple is just for the experience when the time is not so important to explain that experience, but you know that past simple need a specific time when you use it.

  • eg) I didn't call her yesterday because I was busy.

Yesterday can be a clue to in which one you will use between them.**

eg) Technology has influenced the way we live now.
**In this sentence, you don't have to state when the technology influenced to us exactly. That is a kind of unfinished time or the case that the time is not so important to explain the event.**

Speaking Mistakes

  • to + infinitive or gerund for the purpose
    eg) I went to Canada for studying English last year. (Not common)
    eg) I went to Canada to study English last year. (Common)
    **When you use something like purpose, gerund is not so good to fit. Mostly to + infinitive make sense more than gerund when you want to express the purpose.**
