[UX] Emotional design case – Nick icon (Nickcon)
If you consider emotional design, you need to find out something fun or something to stimulate users’ experiences. Something dynamic must be better, and considering the atmosphere would be better than the others. That design factors don’t need to be a big change. Sometimes just a small thing can be a key for emotional design for sure.
Today, I am going to say Nick icon. I think this term is not so common in use or I don't know what the name is exactly.
Anyway, I am calling this nickcon. I don't why people who are living in my country like to use a shorten word like that. Nickcon is a combined word which are nickname and icon. You can know that we usually use our nickname online, and these days we also use an icon more instead of just a nickname though.
By the way, I am not a heavy user in some communities but I like to surf there to know how people are thinking or what kind of trend people like nowadays.
When I entered a community, I found that cute nickcon, but now I don't remember where it was. Anyway, I just thought that this can make people laugh when they recognize what it means.
You know when your user level is low like you are a kind of freshman, you can see your nickcon below.
1. Use something cute
I can suppose that something cute can have people feel fun, and it makes people emotional more than just normal one. I believe that you might have an experience about laughing while you were having eye contact with a baby in some places.
2. Consider an atmosphere and something dynamic
Do you think it is enough to make you fun, if the icon is not moved like that? I don't think so. If the icon just is just stopped, it will not be so enjoyable, and it will be so boring. As long as you saw the baby like rolling on the ground, this nickcon might also be perfect to make you feel fun.
You know people normally like to see something dynamic more than just static thing. I think this is a kind of instinct that people usually have.
Honestly, this is a simple thing, and I know this is not so impact to design UX, but I hope that you believe small changes have always changed the world. That's what I wanted to say in this article!!
Let's consider something from a small one, and make a big change for the world.
