[Leadership] Leaders' braveness to show their weaknesses

Leaders usually have a strong mind set, but they are sometimes be brave to open their weakness. When the leaders just try to hid their weakness, the leadership can be damaged from team members. The leader is also one of the members in the team, and they must not be ashamed of their weakness by itself.

When we see some leaders in organizations, we can think that they are also one of normal people. They sometimes make a mistake, and  sometimes show off their strength.

Today, we are going to talk about leaders' braveness to show their weakness.

Which do you like a leader to show his weakness or a leader to be so perfect without any weakness?

I'd like to ask you which one you have loyalty for. Of course, this question may be so stupid. Some people feel more attractive to a leader who have better abilities than them, and also some people want a leader who have warm mind even if he has some weaknesses.

Before I talk about the leaders' talents as a leader, I think that they are also one of the team members. They have even more experiences in working level, and I have no doubt about what they have good talents as a leader. (Although some leaders might have cheated when they become a leader...)

I don't like to make the topic unclear but I'd like to respect leaders' experience more. (Unfortunately, I am even not a leader yet.)

I think having more experiences means that they have more know-how in trial and errors. How many ways are there and how much risks are there in the world in doing something new?

I don't think that leaders should have all burdens by themselves. If they have to know all about that and they can do everything, why do they need members to help them?

I don't deny that they have to make an effort by themselves continuously to fill the lack of their weaknesses. In that case, you can help your subordinates when they are stuck in some problems.

I think that the leaders should be like that but I don't think that means leaders should be perfect.

As I said below, they are not so perfect so they need team members. At the same time, they can be your supporters as well. I think leaders should be brave to show their weaknesses, by the way.

Most leaders think showing their weakness to the members is very ashamed. Of course, that must be so embarrassing things, but think about the case that you just open your weakness even if you don't want to show it to your members.

Just show it to your members before getting off your perfection.

When your team members know your weak points, they try to defense them from the enemies. (Of course, you know some bad ones can not help you in some cases.)

For instance, please imagine that a leader and team members go to a seminar and a leader should give a presentation in front of many audiences. A leader didn't make a material for the presentation perfectly and he can't also have an ability to give a presentation very well.

In addition, team members don't know that at all. By the way, a leader makes a lot of mistakes in front of people. How do the members think about that? Can you think about theirs embarrassing minds?

Maybe they are so ashamed and want to hide somewhere as possible as they can.

Be sure that the braveness to show your weakness is for your team members before your weak points.

The members who know my weak points very well can help me when I am in some troubles, and also defense me from the enemies.

In this reason, a leadership comes from the braveness to show theirs weak points. Get out of the stresses to become so perfect. You don't have to that and let them help you when you are in bad situation. It makes you more free from the stresses.

Lastly, if I can say one more thing...

Your team members might already know more what you have some weak points... (You know the more a leader who seems to have secrets, the more people like to talk about them.)
